STEVEN CHAIKELSON is a Lecturer-In-Law at Columbia Law School and an Associate Professor in the Columbia University School of the Arts, where he also serves as Chair of the Theatre Division and Head of the Theatre Management & Producing Program. A member of the New York State Bar, Steven is the first official graduate of Columbia University’s joint degree program in Law and Theatre Management and a Co-Author of Theatre Law: Cases and Materials, a law school textbook recently published by Carolina Academic Press. As President of Snug Harbor Productions, Steven manages theatrical productions on and off Broadway and across the United States and serves as a business affairs consultant and advisor to several not-for-profit theatre companies. His credits include the Broadway productions of Elaine Stritch At Liberty, George Gershwin Alone, A Moon for the Misbegotten, The Price, Death of a Salesman, Freak, and Fool Moon, the Off-Broadway productions of The Normal Heart, The Tricky Part, and Harlem Song, and regional/touring productions of Trumbo, Art, Fully Committed and The Vagina Monologues . His producing credits include Oren Safdie’s Private Jokes, Public Places, Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children, Chesapeake by Lee Blessing, and the holiday revue, That Time of the Year.
